How to get there?

Some hints about Florianópolis!

1. Florianópolis is a tourist hot spot in Brazil, so it is attended by several domestic and international flights (specially from Latin-america, and specially from Argentina).

2. There also plenty of domestic and international bus services

3. Florianópolis is a relatively small State Capital (~ 0.5 milhons people), however the traffic is as bad as any other Brazilian city.

4. It can be rainy in any time of the year (sub-tropics!), so let's hope for the best.

5. There are many, many options for lodging. November isn't high season yet, so you may find a good deal!

6. November is already warm (19 to 26 oC), and the beaches are beautiful. There a lot of them along the east shore. Some are best for swimming, other are very good for surfing. However, there is  upwelling of South Atlantic Central Water, and the water temperature is usually < 20 oC.

7. There is a reasonable public transportation system

8. Violence? Neither more nor less than other Brazilian big cities. Less than more, we think.
